Relay School - Lesson 1

Can you distinguish between a bifurcated contact and a normal contact at a glance?

A BIFURCATED CONTACT IS RELATIVELY EASY TO IDENTIFY.

The contact plate has been divided into two parts, both of which have their own contact pin. The pins move at the same time and make contact with their counterpart. This technology allows excellent reliability.

WHEN DO YOU NEED A BIFURCATED CONTACT?

We offer relays with bifurcated contacts from each relay series (MRC, QRC & IRC). Bifurcated contacts are the best option for connecting very low signals starting at 1 mA/5 V. A good example is connecting input signal from sensor to logic control. Standard contacts come with 0.2 μ gold plating, since gold conducts electricity better than most other metals. This ensures interference-free signal transmission.

  • Available in MRC, QRC, and IRC series
  • 1 mA / 5 V
  • Gold-plated contacts as standard
